Despite being mostly a fashion photographer at the time, I didn’t want the book to be about my fashion pictures. I wanted to share my aesthetic, my way of seeing the world. I called it “Mario Testino, Any Objections?” because I felt I had accomplished building a vocabulary of my own, despite the many expectations established by society. Alongside my point of view, there was also a technical defiance: photos out of focus, for example, are sometimes beautiful, and they were not naturally accepted for a book. I knew it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it felt good to show who I was. In the end we are all different and that diversity is what enriches our lives. _ Este fue mi primer libro.
