A step forward on the pathway to becoming a full-time professional outfit, the transition to a hybrid playing model will see some members of the women’s senior team join the Club on a full-time basis. The approach will also allow other players to remain with the Club in a part time capacity, as they continue to forge successful careers outside of football across a diverse range of industries. Mel Reay’s side have enjoyed a progressive campaign on and off the pitch in the Barclays Women’s Championship, with the Lasses currently ranked 10th ahead of their final league encounter of the season. Several players have also earned international recognition following their performances at domestic level and the Women’s Under-23 side are currently enjoying an unbeaten inaugural campaign. Domonic Bylett’s outfit are close to clinching the Durham FA Women’s League One title, with the Foundation of Light’s Regional Talent Centre also continuing to go from strength to strength.
