I am 20 years old and live in Copenhagen, Denmark. My mother is Japanese and my father is Danish. In the summer of 2022 I graduated high school. After high school I - as many other danish students - chose to take a gap year. A gap year means taking a year out in between studies. I spend 5 months of my gap year volunteering in southeast Turkey. After I came home I started working at a vintage store in Copenhagen. After 4 months of working, I am now spending two months in Osaka, Japan. The main purpose of my stay is to become closer to my mothers family in Osaka and to get to know Japanese culture better. For that reason I believe that working in Japan is a good way to get more integrated into the culture. I already had experience with vintage stores, so I knew that would be the best possibility to get a job in Osaka. I researched vintage clothing stores in Osaka and found “Nutty Vintage”. I send them an e-mail with application and cv. Immediately, I received a reply and we agreed on a day for a job interview. That is how I’m now working at “Nutty Vintage”.
