I mean it's probably the most permanent thing we can do. You can end jobs, relationships, friendships - just about anything. But you can't walk away from being a parent. Of course that's going to be overwhelming. Even if it's just worrying about the logistics or hoping you'll be good enough. I had so many worries ahead of having Ada, but I kept catching those thoughts and reminding myself: 99% of what you worry about won't happen. I found being in my pregnancy, I had so many pragmatic thoughts. Like I won't do this or I will do that. But actually, the moment she was here - maternal instinct kicked in and the pragmatic stuff just didn't seem important. The things that have been challenging, we've figured out along the way. So if you're worrying - about anything - hope this serves as a nice reminder to stay in the present.
