We flew to Girona to see what @thetraka had in store for us and it did NOT disappoint! Even if your race went sideways the route, the views, the energy and excitement was enough for a wonderful, albeit very long time spent on a bike. I got to enjoy the largest pro women’s field of all time and even broke the standing women’s record of 16+ hours with the winner, Amity. We started and ended in the dark, and the finish was like an epic nighttime cyclocross race with lights (which lifted my spirits after being neausous and calorie deficient for 10 hours). Knowing this course was key and planning out your feeds was crucial. These long, long days are more an eating competition than anything, so when we hit the feed zone with pizza it was game on!
