Photo by @paoloverzone | In 1751 a meteorite landed in Hrašćina, Croatia, with witnesses reporting an explosion and a fireball in the sky—claims that were later dismissed as fairy tales. The largest chunk of that meteorite, weighing 88 pounds, is now displayed in the Natural History Museum Vienna. Read more about how early cultures used metal from meteorites in the June 2023 magazine or in the link in bio. Follow @paoloverzone for more images and stories.
