Introducing a custom Michael Kors Collection patchwork trench coat, crafted from vintage military apparel for Donna Karan’s Style for Strength initiative. The one-of-a-kind coat was constructed from patches hand-cut from 17 different military garments, then pieced and hand-stitched by skilled artisans in the Michael Kors Collection atelier in Italy, to create an all-over collage fabric. Michael, who has designed trench coats throughout his career, drew inspiration for the patchwork collage from a coat designed for his Spring 2012 collection. “I’ve always believed that a great trench coat is an essential part of a woman’s wardrobe. The first trench coats were designed for the military, so it felt right to create this special version in support of military veterans. It’s crucial that we care for those who risk their lives in defense of our country, and I’m honored to be able to join Donna Karan in this important initiative.” - MK The coat was created as a part of Donna Karan’s Style for Strength initiative, honoring and supporting our military veterans.
