Last night, Alex Newell and J. Harrison Ghee made history by becoming the first two openly nonbinary performers to win #Tonys.
Newell won Best Performance by Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for their role in #Shucked. And later in the night, Ghee won Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for their role in Some Like It Hot.
This wasn't the first time they made history, either. They were also the first nonbinary-identifying actors to be nominated for Tony Awards.
