Milan men’s week kicked off today with @Valentino’s first solo menswear show since 2020, when Pierpaolo Piccioli (@pppiccioli) began showing co-ed collections. Thinking beyond the color pink, Piccioli was reflecting on Hanya Yanagihara’s successful—and polarizing—novel “A Little Life,” sending copies of the book as invitation to the show (ok, the cover was indeed printed in PPP-pink). Additionally, passages from the novel appeared on handbags and tailored separates in a decisively dressed-up collection that made a case for the short suit, and was accompanied by a performance from @d4vddd.
