Born in 1932 in Guyana, Carmen went on to become a well-known actor on stage and television in the UK, with credits including Doctor Who and the Channel 4 comedy Desmond’s. The artist Sonia Boyce OBE has created a portrait of Carmen, which along with the other nine artworks, will become part of the Royal Collection. They are all featured in the fascinating new BBC documentary, Windrush: Portraits of a Generation.
