ZANA BAYNEさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ZANA BAYNEInstagram)「The origin story of the Buckle Bra & Bustier 🌹 First conceived in 2013 (see the receipts in slide 3) in our 300 sq ft NYC Garment District studio. This was for our first runway collection for Fall 2014 titled “Ornamentalist” for its exploration of hardware as embellishment. I was also very into the idea of reinterpreting the iconic Dior “New Look” silhouettes at that time, even if it isn’t a totally obvious reference. More on that another time. Fun fact: After we had successfully cast all of the models for runway, one of the agencies canceled all of the confirmed talent the night before because the collection “was too risqué”. Luckily through the help of our community we were able to rally together a group of models who felt so confident in what they were wearing and ended up being the perfect casting for the show! 10 years ago our mentality was very much geared towards collections and themes and seasons and I couldn’t be more happy to be in a position where we can rediscover our archives and back individual pieces that are exactly what we want for right now.
