We wanted to go camping for a while & heard about the @ulumresorts near Moab, Utah. It looked breathtaking online so we decided it would be our first summer getaway destination with our friends!

We flew from LAX -SLC. The flight was super easy ( under 2 hours ) but with snacks and an iPad, the kids did great.

We stopped at Chungas, a local Mexican spot in SLC. Highly recommend, get the steak tacos!

It took 4 hrs. to get from SLC to ULUM. Sonny got antsy with a million “are we there yets” but totally manageable.

We were greeted by the warmest faces and most refreshing sips of fresh hibiscus lemonade.

Our tent was gorgeous.
I don’t like this word but it was ultimate glamping

Wood burning furnace
Toilets that flush
A hot rain shower
Aesop toiletries
Plush towels
Soft robes

First day we got there, we swam, ate, made s’mores and ate delicious seasonal food. The fact that there is a full functioning kitchen in the middle of this wild is just so awesome.

We were EXHAUSTED and all slept til 8!
 
The next day we took a drive to the Colorado river for some river rafting!

The water was 50 degrees but the boys jumped in and loved every second. Pro tip: bring towels. I felt like a shit mom.
 
The property has three pools at different temperatures. A cold plunge, air temperature, and a hot tub. So amazing.
 
Since the three of us stayed in the tent together we listened to a sleep story on Calm and were all out in 10 min. There was a pullout couch for Sonny. He stayed in it 2 out of the 3 nights.
 
The next day, we hiked to the top of the Looking Glass Rock. I felt super stable in my Hoka’s and loved the camel back I got from Free People. We then hit up Moab, only 30 minutes away, for a major dune buggy adventure.
 
That night, Emily braided my hair as she usually does when we are on vacation together. I wish I knew how to french braid my own hair.

I drank one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had, made s’mores again with dark chocolate bark and passssssed out.

We hit the road at 10am the next day and walked in our front door by 7p.

I can’t think of a better place to get off the grid and be with loved ones for a weekend.
