The Prado Museum and LOEWE FOUNDATION have announced John Maxwell Coetzee as the first author to participate in the ‘Writing the Prado’ residency programme.
The initiative invites internationally renowned writers to engage with the Museum’s collections and rich history as a source of literary inspiration. Participating authors' writings will be published jointly by the Museum and prestigious literary magazine Granta. The South African author, and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2003, will spend three weeks at the Museum this summer and will also participate in a series of public talks with the philosopher and writer Mariana Dimópulos.
