You know those moments in life where everything comes full circle? As I sat there and watched him in his element passionately talking about believing in your dreams, navigating self doubt and breaking down succinct steps to finding your way in to the film industry as a performer, filmmaker, producer and writer, I was thinking about how this is the same little kid who grew up homeless who held on to the idea that Dreams Work. It became his religion and it’s the heartbeat of his teachings. ⁣ ⁣ As the group of participants shared their stories in such an intimate way, I realized I was watching in real time something that goes far beyond a traditional teacher/student dynamic, I was watching transformative breakthroughs in people, I was actively watching spirits lighten, the palpable buzz of empowerment, excitement and motivation in people who had felt wobbly along their path in this elusive industry. It’s so much more than here’s how to get your movie made, here’s how to make an amazing self tape, here’s how to find success in the film industry, it’s meeting people on a soul level and reminding them of their power. Mark has completely found his calling and anyone who knows and loves him understands this on a fundamental level.
