In #GloRilla’s world, the sun is always shining, fuckboy or festival mixup be damned.
Our digital cover star spoke with ELLE’s @girlnamednee about growing up in Memphis, her debut EP, and finding her voice as an artist. “When I first came out rapping, I was trying to sound like a little girl,” she admits. “I was saying some hard shit, but just in a little girly ass voice. It was me trying to change my sound because I have a naturally deeper voice.” She decided to switch things up in 2021. “That's the year my voice started getting deeper and deeper.” It’s a shift that subsequently led to her 2022 breakout single “F.N.F (Let’s Go).”
