​​Gokokuji Temple's history dates back to the Edo period.
Despite suffering two fires, the temple's architectural beauty still shines, and the Gekkoin, a palace for visitors, has been designated as an Important Cultural Property in Japan.

Today, more than 300 years later, the temple is still as popular with the public as it was in the past.

文京区にある「護国寺」の歴史は、遡ること江戸時代。
二度の火災に見舞われながらもその建築美は現代に受け継がれており、来客用の御殿「月光院」は国の重要文化財に指定されています。
300年以上経った今も、昔と変わらず人々に親しまれている寺院です。
