It’s been a long journey indeed on 乘风2023! Before I post a bunch of pics of all the sisters (see next post). I want to take the time to acknowledge my dearest teacher Teresa Carpio @teresathe_singer. On March 3, I reached out to her as I was thinking of contemplating the offer to do the show. My voice was nothing like it used to be. I couldn’t sing high anymore and it would split on the higher registers. To be honest, this was my biggest fear and biggest pain as singing truly is my passion! Teresa was so supportive of me, she gave me strength and encouragement, she helped me believe in myself again. And she helped me release the grief in my heart from losing my parents which was causing me to lose my voice. She helped me find my true self again. It was through her singing classes in the last few months that I found healing and I found joy in singing again. She is not just a teacher but a healer, an inspiration and truly an angel. I love her and am forever grateful to her for being there for me as a friend and for treating me like her own family! I don’t know where life will take me next and whether or not I will continue to have the opportunity to share my voice, but for now, I am so contented, joyful and my heart is filled with gratitude.
