The World Championships in Fukuoka has come to a close.
It was great to see some new and old friends. I learned a lot as a commentator and thank everyone on the broadcast team @swim5ch.tvashi
Getting to watch Leon @leon.marchand31 break the same world record I chased and seeing my childhood hero Michael Phelps @マイケル・フェルプス hand him the medal was surreal. I am proud of all the swimmers that are continuing to prove the sky is the limit in the world of swimming. Paris is next and I look forward to seeing even more great swims.
世界水泳の競泳競技、無事に終わりました。多数の世界記録も樹立され、素晴らしい大会となりました。特に男子400m個人メドレーでは、自分が目標にしていた記録をレオン @leon.marchand31 が破り(しかも、僕の永遠のアイドル、マイケル・フェルプス @マイケル・フェルプス と同じタイミングでそれぞれの番組で解説をしていたレースで…)、運命を感じました。
また世界中のスイマーが日本の観客の前で素晴らしいパフォーマンスを披露してくれてとても嬉しかったです。水泳の可能性と面白さを再認識できた大会となりました。
伝える側として起用していただいたテレビ朝日を始め、水泳を盛り上げてくれた選手団の皆さん、そして猛暑の中、大会を支えてくれた全ての関係者の皆さんに感謝です。
