NEWS: The St. Louis Cardinals have completed two separate trades.

We have acquired RHP Matt Svanson from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for INF Paul DeJong. We have also acquired INF César Prieto, LHP Drew Rom and RHP Zack Showalter from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for RHP Jack Flaherty.

Paul was a model teammate both on and off the field during his seven seasons with the Cardinals. He earned an All-Star selection in 2019 and his clutch hitting helped secure our 11th NL Central title that same year.

A member of the Cardinals organization since being selected in the first round of the 2014 draft, Jack posted a 3.58 ERA over seven seasons in St. Louis and finished fourth in NL Cy Young Award voting in 2019.
