Comeback isn’t always easy and it has been my hardest season mentally so far with so many different emotions! Coming back from injuries. Feeling good and being happy and hopefull but then running slow. Far from the level that I know I’m capable of. Having to accept that it is just where I am right now. Knowing I missed a lot of work. Going in to every race convinced that I can do better, improve, run faster - only to run slow times. 100m is in that way very merciless because the number will tell. It’s when facing adversity that I have developed most, and I know I’m more than just a number on a paper. This season has been all about getting back to race rutines, race mode, focusing on the proces, my race execution and myself. Easier said than done when seeing others improve, run fast, and qualify for championships. I have kept showing up because I have big goals for next year and even if the number on the paper is not what I want it to be right now, racing is the best preparation you can get. It’s been tough, but I’m proud of myself for not giving up, not backing down when things have been hard. I hope and believe this will make me stronger as an athlete as well as human. This is not a sympathy post or me trying to excuse my latest performances. I just wanted to be honest and share some of the harder parts of being an athlete. It’s not all fun and games. Maybe some of you can relate and maybe some of you are struggling as well. Then you know you’re not alone 🤍 Thanks to my coach, BF, team, team mates, friends, family and you guys for still pushing and supporting me! 📸 @atleticamentefoto」8月4日 23時00分 - mathildeukramer
