As the group filled their car, they played Beyoncé’s “Rennaissance” album. Joyously, Sibley began to vogue. That’s when a group of men approached the friends yelling homophobic and anti-Black slurs, and one fatally stabbed Sibley in what is now being charged as a hate crime. On Friday, hundreds of New Yorkers gathered at that same gas station to mourn the death and celebrate the life of O’Shae Sibley, a talented choreographer and beloved member of New York’s ballroom community.
