Its scale is so famous that every Japanese is familiar with the phrase “Kaga Hyakuman-goku” even today. ⁡ “Hyakuman-goku” means one million koku. A domain with a million koku produced enough rice to feed one million people, where “koku” is an old Japanese unit for rice field to feed one person for one year. ⁡ I visited Kenrokuen, one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. It was truly breathtaking! The gardens are so well-manicured and the scenery is simply stunning. I could have spent hours just wandering around and taking it all in. ⁡ I also visited the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. It is one of SANAA's most notable works. SANAA is a Japanese architectural firm founded by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa in 1995. The firm has won numerous awards, including the Pritzker Prize in 2010.
