Aizu-Wakamatsu has a rich history of samurai culture, having been under the rule of the Aizu samurai clan for many centuries. The Aizu Festival is a great occasion to experience this rich culture. 🥰

From September 22-24, the streets will come alive with the sights and sounds of the festival, celebrating the city’s proud samurai heritage. ⚔️

If you want to immerse yourself in the samurai culture of Aizu, why not also learn how to blade the sword? ‘Kengido’ is a mix of martial arts and performance art developed by KAMUI (@samurai.kamui), a samurai artist collective. You can learn kengido from a world-famous expert and spend an unforgettable weekend exploring Aizu and learning about its culture like never before (only the VOL 1 & 2 plans include the kengido practice).
