I cut it open during last nights live stream concert, and I’m going to go ahead and play another one this coming Saturday – if you missed it and you want to join us you can set your reminder right here in this post. or grab your tickets and find all my upcoming shows at the link in my bio. @stageit One thing I have learned that the rampant crab grass that I have fought so hard in previous years actually helps to protect the vines from the harsh sun, while giving the melons a chance to ripen. when I weeded around my honeydew vine, it actually died because it was so hot. also, in terms of fertilizer, I use a thick layer of mushroom compost over the winter months, like January to March, to let the nutrients soak in. Then mix it into the soil before planting the seeds direct, or seedlings if I start them indoors.
