The human made lines that define our geopolitical existence as nations should not limit our sense of responsibility towards one another. Amidst this intricate web of existence, we must remember that while these lines outline jurisdictions they should never divide our shared humanity. As ASEAN nations, we share more than geographic proximity; we share cultural roots, historical experiences, and above all, common challenges and aspirations. As perception creates reality let us allow ourselves to see these lines as bridges that connect instead of walls that separate us. When we prioritize humanity beyond state borders, we recognize that the struggles faced by our neighbours are not distant concerns, but issues that affect us all. Whether it’s safeguarding our environment, building disaster resilience, promoting education and healthcare, or championing human rights, the challenges we face remind us that we are all part of the same ASEAN story. The good news is that despite a number of bumps in the road and political differences, since it was founded in 1967, ASEAN has played a valuable role that has benefited its members by allowing them to present a united front on a perilous world stage dominated by major powers and alliances. While acknowledging this, it is nevertheless the conviction of myself and many young people in all the member states that in order to achieve better results , steps should be taken to emphasize our shared heritage and history and increase intercourse and interaction that will enhance shared values and economic development.❤️ Thank you for the opportunity to be able to share at the ASEAN Business and Investors Summit @aseanbac.id .
