ブラント・ドーハティさんのインスタグラム動画 - (ブラント・ドーハティInstagram)「Let me tell you a story about a beer. Last year I found myself on Bonaire island in the Caribbean. I looked up the best restaurant around and booked dinner for me and Kim (shout out to @chefsbonaire!). Instead of serving wine with one of the courses, the chefs brought out a high-end beer called Vuurzee. I’ve never had a beer like this in my life. It’s incredible. I tell them how much I like it, really just hoping to get more. I get another pour and they tell me to enjoy it, as it’s probably the last I’ll have of it for awhile. It’s really hard to come by, I’m told. Well that sounds like a challenge to me. I find the brewery on instagram (@degoedeendestoute) and message them, and end up chatting with the owner. He’s a really nice dude named Pieter and lives in Amsterdam, where they make Vuurzee. They’ve got a literal castle outside the city and a bar downtown dedicated to serving this beer. After I tell him how much I love it, he makes me the first American member of the brewery club. He tells me all about the beer. It’s brewed with Pinot noir grapes and champagne yeast. Kind of a mix between beer and wine, which makes it so unique. Fast forward to this summer, I’m finally in Amsterdam again. Pieter personally picks up my family and I (he even put a car seat in his car for Wilder) and takes us on a tour of their amazing castle, vineyard and bar. He’s super cool and spends most of the day with us. So I wanted to make this post to say thank you for the hospitality and generosity. I really appreciate your kindness and willingness to show us around your country and share your beer. And thank you to @chefsbonaire for turning me onto it in the first place. I keep in touch with all these people now because of this beer and I think that’s lovely. Ultimately, I learned that the tastiest beer is the friends you make along the way. But seriously, Vuurzee is available in an increasing amount of countries worldwide and you should definitely try it if you can!
