Covering an expanse of 705,015 hectares (1,742,130 acres), this heritage-listed region is positioned roughly 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) north of Perth, along the shores of the East Indian Ocean. Notably, the Ningaloo Coast features the remarkable Ningaloo Reef, stretching over 260 kilometers (160 miles), making it Australia’s largest fringing coral reef and the only substantial reef located in close proximity to a landmass. Additionally, the coastal zone encompasses the Muiron Islands and Cape Farquhar.
