The exhibition celebrates opera goddesses and silent movie stars, as well as global megastars including Maria Callas, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Cher, Lil Nas X and Rihanna (who has five key looks exhibited here, including her iconic Met Gala jewel-encrusted robe and matching mitre by John Galliano for Maison Margiela!). You’ll be able to take a closer look at 60 cult outfits (amongst them a few incredible costumes by Bob Mackie) and over 250 objects drawn from the museum's collections. The exhibition aims to show the bigger voice of the divas, the one that they used to fight for the feminist cause, and to change their social and political context for the good.
