It was an opportunity to share my thoughts on the current safeguarding process, offer insight on various solutions and listen to how the IOC plan on implementing changes and develop effective policies for the future protection of all athletes. Athletes have the right to take part in sport in a safe and enjoyable environment. Unfortunately, we know that this is not always the case. Getting safeguarding right will ensure a wider participation in sport and ensure safe access for everyone. I look forward to working with the IOC as a former athlete on how we can create effective changes together.
