I was initially drawn to their historic nature and how they captured a tiny blip in our collective communication past. Once I started drawing and began developing my own style I would continue to look back at these cards for inspiration. I was “drawn” specifically to the cards you could tell were not created by a schooled hand but one that was making a drawing for the mere joy of expressing their auditory hobby in a visual language that was not their first nature. In a sense, the “style” that I have developed isn’t attributed to any sort of special technique or deep learning but simply from the joy of communicating the mental weight of an incessant thought noise into a simple coherent illustration that hopefully makes sense. Drawing for me is very much a source of therapy for my bipolar disorder but it’s also just fun to make something and have others smile or think about something in a new way. I’m very excited to announce that @masalanoir has published a selection of 350 cards from this collection that have made me smile and think about things in new ways. I hope they do they same for you.」9月19日 5時26分 - jgspdx
