As someone who grew up in one of them, this has long been one of the most important issues to me. From conversations about reproductive rights with my sisters in the kitchen, to being trained as a patient escort in my early 20’s, to marching in the streets of NY after Roe, to visiting independent clinics in the midwest, it has opened my eyes to the struggles so many women face in seeking basic reproductive care in this country. I couldn’t just sit by and do nothing. That’s why I founded the Gateway Coalition. Gateway Coalition is a collective that works to direct funds and resources to independent clinics and the patients they serve. Our focus is to support care providers in the midwest and the important role they play in providing access to critical healthcare for patients, helping cover travel costs, and simply keep their doors open.
