Steven, who is an ex-offender, has gone on to co-found Own Merit, a social enterprise which supports fellow ex-offenders to find accommodation and work following release from prison. Following his Investiture, Mr Gallant said, ‘The medal itself, for me, it symbolises more than just what happened on London Bridge. It symbolises more than bravery, it symbolises change.
