Magnum Photosさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Magnum PhotosInstagram)「@newshatavakolian has been awarded the first edition of the Deloitte Photo Grant in the Reporting category, promoted by Deloitte Italy 👏⁠ ⁠ Tavakolian won with her series And They Laughed At Me, a personal vision of her home country, Iran, using unpublished frames from her archive and new images to create a narrative that explores the Iranian condition.⁠ ⁠ "Since I started photographing at the age of 16," Tavakolian explains, "Iranian society has been cyclically pushed to the edge of the precipice, torn, broken and still forced to move forward despite adversity. There have been so many events that life has become a continuous race toward an indefinite ahead, where even the concept of 'yesterday' is soon forgotten.
