We started with my character who’s supposed to be HIGH OUT OF HIS MIND, we start the day with my character in his dressing room, drunk, snorting cocaine, and verbally and physically abusing my wife [ Jennifer Hudson ] and doing whatever it takes for him to get in the zone before he performs…. Directed by Paul Hunter [ who I just fucking love ] we did the scene 3 maybe 4 times and after I got to the monitor to watch playback? , I said to Paul “I don’t believe I don’t believe that I actually look high and fucked up as I wanna be in the scene” … So Paul asked me what do you wanna do? I got out of my chair and walked away and said “I’ll be right back”…. I went outside and I started asking all the [ extras on set and Security ] does anybody have some weed? a blunt anything? One of the dudes raised his hand and said “yeah, I got some weed in the car”…. I said “My Niggha”…. He went to the car came back 5 mins later…. I lit the blunt, took 5 long full puffs…. It was def some strong CALI GAS!!!!! I was high af almost instantly! But what he didn’t tell me was the weed was LACED in PCP???? So I ended up in an alley laying in mud, drinking milk trying to bring down my high… The ambulance was almost called cause everyone was worried! Jennifer Hudson was worried about me and was asking WTF is going on with Tyrese? At a certain point things calmed down and proceeded to shoot our short film [ still unreleased ] entitled SHAME!!!!! Shame went on to be the biggest life changing song that stayed #1 for 16 weeks! Thank you again to producer @warryncampbell and @djrogersjr for this smash!
