In addition, on average, Hispanic/ Latino people present with thicker tumors and have tumors that are more likely to metastasize (spread) than their white peers. The reasons for these disparities might include being unaware of risks and symptoms, a lack of sun-safe behaviors, access to health insurance and ultimately, delayed diagnosis.
