I feel for the children inconceivably and heartlessly ripped from their mothers arms, for the teenagers whose song and laughter turned to screams as they were brutalized killed and taken hostage. My heart aches for all their beloved families desperate to save them and longing for them to come home . . And my soul aches for the people living with the frightening uncertainty and grotesque reality of war. I never imagined our world would ever be so full of hate. This violence, only creates more hate and more violence. As Jimmy Carter once said, “We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.” There is no logic to violence. Even if you think it’s working , it’s only deepening the divide as the evil seems to grow and feed on fear and destruction. I will continue to hope beyond hope that the men in charge will find their way back to the table. Make a cease fire, make the bombs stop. Find the sparks that started the fire of hate and find ways to extinguish it.
