I acknowledge that I don’t know the history of the conflict that plagues this region, but there is no “context” that would justify the raping, murdering, and kidnapping of innocent people. Of children. Of babies. Hammas is a terrorist organization and this is an act of terrorism. Hammas is not indicative of all Palestinians or Muslims and I am heartbroken thinking of the devastation that will occur on both sides of the fence as a result of the actions taken by this terrorist organization. What we see unfolding isn’t a political issue. It’s a human issue and there is no place for this type of evil and hatred in our humanity. I am a woman of faith and believe in the power of prayer. Don’t underestimate it.
