Video by Yael Martínez @yaelmtzv| In recent years, I’ve worked to capture the resilience of Guerrero, Mexico’s Indigenous people—or comunidades originárias, as I call them—as they emigrated to the U.S. to make a better life for themselves. These originárias have been through trauma and risked their lives to escape violence. They support families left behind. Overcoming these challenges while retaining their ancestral identity is a theme I explored, one that’s vital for creating a more diverse future. Read more at the link in bio.
