When @itsyoungmiko (Young Miko) goes into the recording studio, she likes to be comfy.

“I can’t be uncomfortable, otherwise I feel like I won’t be able to flow,” she says, talking about her outfit. “So, comfiness always, but stylish as well.” 😏

Young Miko grew up in Puerto Rico surrounded by music, with family and friends introducing her to rock, reggae and hip-hop in both English and Spanish. “In Puerto Rico, there’s always music playing in every corner,” she says. “Growing up in that environment made it easy for me to approach my music. It was effortless for me.”

Young Miko’s own music is a mix of all her favorite styles, blending genres and languages to create a new take on what Latin music can sound like.

“Latin music has always had an impact, it’s always been a part of the culture,” she adds. “It’s brutal to think that, in the future, my name will be there as well, as part of this movement.”
