The folks at @OutlawValleyRanch kept two of these puppies to be brought up as livestock guardian dogs (LGDs), Duke and Dottie. They’ve been with the sheep since they were ten weeks old and now, at six months old, they’re living full time with the flock.

Puppies that they are, they can’t be fully trusted with the sheep until they reach maturity, around two-years-old. Duke already has quite the bark on him, and Dottie loves playing in any water she can find. They will learn from the older guards and, also, from the thousands of years of instinct running in their blood.
