THE TOKYO TOILETの全貌が明らかになった書籍が出版されました！
このプロジェクトはプロジェクト発案者である柳井康治さんが、多様性を社会の実現を目的に、渋谷区内17箇所のトイレを新しく生まれ変わらせるプロジェクト。国内外の建築家/デザイナー/クリエイターが参加していることも話題ですが、ヴィム・ヴェンダース監督が本プロジェクトの清掃員のストーリーを映画化した「PERFECT DAYS」(202312/22公開予定)など、次々と話題を提供してくれています。
柳井康治さんがクリエイティブの力を信じて、自由にデザインさせてくれたことが何より嬉しかったです。

A book revealing the full story of THE TOKYO TOILET has been published!
This project was initiated by Mr. Koji Yanai, and aims to realize a diverse society by renewing 17 toilets in Shibuya Ward in Tokyo. The participation of architects/designers/creators from Japan and abroad in this project has been a topic of discussion, and the film “Perfect Days” (scheduled to be released on December 22, 2023 in Japan), in which director Wim Wenders adapted the story of the project’s cleaners, has been providing us with one topic after another.
I was more than happy that Koji Yanai believed in the power of creativity and let us design it freely.
