When I thought about drawing manga for the first time in a while, my thoughts turned to the development and distribution of AI over the past few years. I often see AI-drawn pictures these days, and I have the impression that they are being used casually in advertisements, thumbnails, and commercial-related applications. It is a threat, isn't it? It's so good that even the smallest of details are no problem. Moreover, there are no distortions, and everyone seems to like them. It occurred to me that "good" and "beautiful" may not be so valuable in the future of creativity. I think we are now in an age where "how to capture" and "how to give meaning" are required more than before. I like figurative art, but I strongly felt that it may be time for me to update my work as a creator.
