【Interview with Masanobu Hiraoka in NYC】

Masanobu Hiraoka：
When I heard about the concept of this project and wondered how it could expand the expression of manga, I thought we could do something new.
The theme of my MANGA is about an old man who meets a young man to reevaluate and restart his life goal that he has not really given up on. In the exhibition, by animating some of the frames, I have depicted something you could sense beyond of what it is illustrated, which I hope you would feel.

平岡政展：
マンガの表現をどう拡張していくことができるか、という企画背景を伺い、何か新しいことができそうだと思いました。
作品は、老人が青年と出会うことによって、本当は諦めていない人生のゴールをもう一度見つめ直して再スタートを切る、ということがテーマになっています。展示では、いくつかのコマをアニメーションにすることで、コマのその先のようなものを描いているので、ぜひ見ていただきたいです。
