Children in Vanuatu continue to fear for their lives as the frequency of severe storms increases.

When it comes to climate-related disasters, children and young people are often disproportionately affected. Repeated exposure to events such as these has a profound effect on their well-being, and psychological and physical health.

In Vanuatu, UNICEF teams are working with partners and local authorities to provide support to families.

But to minimize the devastating effects of cyclones and to help Vanuatu’s children withstand the next major climate shock, we need resilient infrastructure and to promote sustainable practices.
