谷尻誠さんのインスタグラム写真 - (谷尻誠Instagram)「古いは新しい。よくこの言葉を話す。 @otayukari @koheimatsuda1980 白子の家を再訪させてもらって二人と話してて、その答えが少しわかった気がした。古民家での時間は、現代の住まいとは違って、囲まれてはいるものの限りなく外部に近い体験がそこにある。内土間だったり、大きな気積だったり、かまどだったりと外での体験が室内にある状態が、人の心を揺さぶるのだと。昔の人はその環境下で常になにが出来るかを考え続けてきたことが想像できる。守られている現代の住まいでは、便利が思考を止めているとも言える。その思考にスイッチを入れられる状態に遭遇した時に、人の気持ちが揺れるのだとしたならば、機能を追い求め、便利に作ることで果たして人の心は揺れるのだろうか？もちろん不便を追い求める必要はないと思うけれど、ぼくは感動する空間をつくりたい。そのためには、人の心が揺れる原理みたいなものを、少しづつ紡いでいく必要がある。機能や便利を追い求めすぎて、シックハウスなどの昔にはなかった住まいにおける健康を害する問題もおきている。高機密高断熱も良いのかもしれないけれど、ぼくは低気密高断熱くらいが程よいと思っている。過去と現代が協力しあって、良いところは引き延ばし、ネガティブなことは個性へと昇華させて、豊かな暮らしの提案が出来ればと思った週末でした。古民家移築のプロジェクトもあるので、深く深く考えていかなければ。 Old is new.
