On Thursday- as Allegra came back from school, I noticed she was acting out, and as I tend to be strict, I went straight into disciplining her. After 30 minutes of arguments, I asked her if there was something she needed to tell me. I told her I could see something was bothering her inside. She burst into tears, saying, ‘Mommy, a baby is coming, and you won’t have time for me,’ which made me burst into tears too.🤪😅 (yeah I’m supper hormonal) It didn’t come out of nowhere. I was busy all week organizing the baby’s room and her room as well, and I was off our usual routine of driving to school together and picking her up. What seemed unnoticeable to me felt like a big deal for her… We ended up having a dance party in her room that day and laying on her bed, discussing all the fun things we will do once the baby is born, like playing active games, for example , or rollerblading. I assured her that no matter how busy I am, I will always make sure we have those special moments just the two of us. When you think they are still little and don’t connect the dots just yet….they are not that little anymore. As much as I’m excited for the new baby, I’ve also been overwhelmed with a good amount of anxiety about the upcoming change… P.S.
