I first discovered Pierre Soulages work at the beginning of my own painting journey. I was mesmerized by his dedication to this singular color. Black. The way he sought for light and play in his paint strokes and layering is a beautiful aesthetic experience. I was fortunate to have seen one of his previous retrospectives at the Louvre in Paris back in 2020 before the world shut down. I still remember it vividly to this day. One of the most prolific painters and to have lived to over 100 years old. That is my dream too. #pierresoulages #levygorvydayan #frommidnighttotwilight
