This is the eighth annual thematic group exhibition is presented jointly by the two galleries on the occasion of Art Basel Miami Beach (@artbasel). Playing on the ambiguities of its title, the art in "Forms" exists somewhere between a nonrepresentational formalism and a realism of forms, proposing different models for communicating the physical and symbolic complexities of the body. In one of the featured works—Adam McEwen's "Rendezvous"—a set of carefully rendered ballpoint pens, presented at the scale of the human body, assume an uncannily figurative presence. With patterns of rhythmic curves introduced to the writing tools’ typically rigid structure, these inanimate objects seem to suggest social interplay among organic forms.
