そして、未来に何を残していけそうですか?

消費のスピードが速度を増す中で過去から学び
"今"を逃さない、私たちの身近にあるあたりまえを大事にする2023年の締めくくりと、2024年の始まり

世界との繋がりが簡単になった時代
= 足元の大切に気づける時代ともいえるもかもしれません

"言葉は人類が用いる最も効き目のある薬" とも言います
「和紙」が教えてくれる私たちの「大切」
生きるヒントを和紙にのせて、言葉がつなぐ今と未来を想像する

楮(こうぞ)、三椏(みつまた)、 雁皮(がんぴ) などを中心に植物の太くて長い繊維を漉くことで完成する紙を和紙という

強くて、太くて、丈夫で、ハンドメイドで
日本では、生活に欠かせない存在だった
紙という存在が = 和紙

その時代が、平和だったかどうか
人々の心が錦だったかどうか
豊かさの基準が、その時代に作られた "紙" が無言で伝えてくれる

和紙は外気をシャットダウンし、暖かい空気を保ってくれる素材　紫外線を浴びれば浴びるほど植物の繊維は白くなっていく　暮らしが、歳を重ねるごとに、良化する

手も時間もかかる、同じものがたくさん作れるわけではないけど　強くて、長期保存ができて、伝えたい言葉を残すことができる　植物と土壌がある景色だってきっと残せる

In a world where consumption grows,
Learn from the past, embrace the present,
Value the ordinary around you.
Closing 2023 to welcome 2024.

In an era of easy global connections,
it is time to notice what's important beneath our feet.

"Words are humanity's most effective medicine,"
Washi, teaching us about what’s "precious."
Putting life hints on Washi to imagine the
present and future connected by words.

Washi is Japanese paper crafted from plants like kozo, mitsumata, and gampi.

Strong, Thick, Handmade.
Washi is a paper that was essential for everyday life.

Reflecting on whether that era was peaceful,
If people's hearts were vibrant,
The standards of richness silently conveyed
by the "paper" created in that era.

Washi shuts out external air, preserving warm air,
Exposing it to sunlight whitens the plant fibers.
As life ages, it improves.

Though it takes time and effort, not mass-produced,
it's strong and can be stored for a long time,
Preserving the words you want to convey,
And recapturing the natural landscapes with plants and soil.
