It helps me to stay on track and is a reminder of what’s really important to me. I create a variety of these boards for different themes; career, love & connection, personal growth, travel. I’ve even been known to take vision-boards into meetings to share my creative vision for projects! Here are my steps: 1. The first and most important step is to get to know your dreams and desires. I recommend feeling into your heart rather than your head - your head is more likely to make you feel anxious, whereas your heart will make you feel light and free. To do this, hold your hand over your heart and close your eyes. Spend some time breathing into this space and listen to what comes up for you. Ask yourself “how do I want to feel in 2024?”, “what will bring me the most joy and fulfilment?”. Have a pen & paper close by to note down the keywords. Examples of mine this year are ‘expansion’, ‘growth’, ‘playfulness’, ‘curation’. 2. Flick through old magazines, newspapers and scraps and cut out words and images that resonate with your keywords. As mine include ‘expansion’ and ‘growth’, I found I kept cutting out images of butterflies 🦋. 3. Now time to piece the board together. I used an old Fenwicks bag from Christmas by sticking both sides together & wrapping in plain paper. I start by sticking the larger cut outs to the board first, and then layer the words and smaller images to create a collage. 4. Leave space on the board for doodling and writing down your personal goals for the year ahead to keep it personal and unique to you. This can include specific projects, goals, keywords, and anything else that’s important to keep note of. I haven’t shown mine in the videos by the way! 5. Your board is complete! You can keep adding to it over the next few days if you find more inspiration. Take a photo of it and refer to it throughout the year.
